Default Buying a 98 S70

Hello,

Well I am about to buy a 98 S70 non-turbo tonight.

It has 128,000 miles on it and has most of the service records also.

We didn't see anything about the timing belt being changed so we are going to have that done, but what I was wondering is there anything else we should do while it's at our mechanic?

We live up in Buffalo, NY so in a cold climate. (wasn't sure if that would make a difference)

Thanks in advance.

Adam

Make sure the vent system is clean and working properly.

It is also due for a 130,000 mile service so make sure to get that done and if you can check to see if the 100,00 was done as well.

Isn't a non turbo void of a PCV system?

No it isn't.
The flame trap can get clogged up. Also the vacuum elbow to the flame trap screen folder can break and cause problems.
