Default Buying a Volvo S70

Hello, first off I would like to say, I love Volvos (of course, what else would bring me to this site) I am currently looking to buy a Volvo S70. I have found one ive completely fell in love with, it looks great cosmetically and seems to run strong. The thing is, the car has 142,000 miles on it. (Its a
98)

Its running for about 3,600

Now what it comes down to is that I am getting my license soon and of course as teenager I do not have a lot of cash to put into the car if there is problems. With 142k, is it worth buying?

maybe...

depends on a lot of factors, which I will let the others explain.
My biggest advice is to make sure you know the TOTAL history on the car!
Good-luck!

Have a trusted mechanic check it out. Get him to give you a list of items that need fixing, etc. Have him put them in a prioritized list of must be done, should be done, might want to do at a later date, etc. This will help you to know how much to offer and what you will have to come up with to get it road ready. A Carfax would also give you more information on accidents, etc.

It is not uncommon to have a Volvo go 200K plus. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Hey, I'm a teenager too. My first (and only) car is a '98 Volvo S70 GLT. My dad loves my car, and he's driven plenty of good cars. My car has about 10,000 less miles than yours and the only problem I've had with it is needing a new $5 gas cap.

wow, get it checked out and if its mechanically sound, I would deffinatly get it. I paid 8,500 for my s70, and it had a little less K on it than that.
