Can i use a '99 V70 turbo head on a '99 S70 non-turbo??? Need a fast Answer... time running out!
Well a few weeks back we had a timing belt tensioner go out on my father in laws '99 S70 with the "B5452S" engine.... it bent the valves on the 1,2 & 4 cylinders.... I found a head that the guys says will work... it comes from the '99 V70 with the "B5452T" engine... but the real QUESTIONS ARE:........
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN THE TURBO AND NON-TURBO HEADS?
ARE THEY INNERCHANGABLE?
This guy is willing to ship it to me complete for $200 and he has sent me photos and looks great and clean... with all the valves and etc in the correct place and guarantee's it to be good.... with less than 95,000 miles on it....
If anyone has a link or some posting on the head swap/ gasket change.. please post them as im not current on volvo stuff... thanks a bunch guys for any and all help!!!, Kelly

I don't know the answer, but I have my doubts it will work. The turbo engine is a 2.3L and the NA is 2.4. I don't think the heads are the same. If you do buy a head you should get the cam cover and head together cause they are milled out of one piece of metal. I have heard of cases where get a head and trying to use the cam cover from the old head causes problems. Hope somebody else gets on who knows more than me.

It is not as simple as if it will just work.
There is many factors to consider.
Does your have VVT?
Does the other head have VVT?
Is the other head solid or hydrolic lifters?
Is your head solid or hydrolic lifters?
If both are VVT then usually turbo is exhaust VVT and N/A is usually intake VVT.
So then noit wouldn't work.
Also the part #'s are different as well. The valves part #'s are the same but thats about it.

wow.... i just realized that i have not clue as to these engines..... It certainly is not a Honda!..... i have no clue as to what VVT even is.... with both of the engines being the same # and all..... except for the S & T at the end... we were both figuring that it would fit.... but maybe not..... it still might be cheaper for me to buy this head.... for the valves as volvo gets $52 each for them here!..... man i just dont know what to do....
