Default Cant get the steering wheel/ airbag off??

Trying to remove the dash and ive read the instructions on how but i cant figure out how to remove the steering wheel/airbag..

i took the cover off behind the steering wheel and i removed the turn signal and the wipers arm..

i know there are the 2 bolts, one on the left and one of the right side of the whell, on the back side...

i'm having a hard time getting into the holes and removing the screws... after i remove those 2 screws should the whole wheel come off or just the horn/airbag???

kinda stuck, please someone help

Did you remove the 2 T-30 screws in the holes?
After that the airbag comes off then there is a 18MM bolt holding the steering wheel on.
But be sure to lock the SRS contact reel before removing the wheel.

k well the t-30 seems too big?

i got the t-25 in there and it seems that the bolt was turning but nothing was really happening, does the bold come all the way out and when it does, does the "horn cover" come off?

err sorry just this step has been taking forever! :/

It is a T-30.
The bolt unscrews and stays in the steering wheel.
Then the center part will just pull off then you unplug it.
Then to lock the contact reel put the steering wheel straight.
Then to the bottom left side you will see a screw sometimes the yellow strap goes to the screw. Then above the 18MM screw you will see a hole. With the wheel straight through that hole you will see in the white part behind the hole is a groove. Put the screw through the hole and into the groove and that will lock it in place.

Also after the screw is removed it is a good idea to use a marker and make a line from the steering wheel to the center shaft to mark the wheel for putting it back on.

Try to crazy glue the piece back in there for a start. Then add the metal after the glue drys.

would recommend JB Weld over crazy glue...

but yeah, then reinforce it w/sheet metal and small screws or rivets.

using gorilla glue seems to be working good!

but the only thing that sucks about that last one is that there is not really much to glue it to, the hole is bigger than the piece (missing pieces of plastic) so im going to try and glue it the best that i can and hope it works =/

we will see haha

Worse case drill the under the hood side of the hole a little bigger. That will allow the screw to go on a little angle if needed. If you look closely in the hole the center part is pretty big.

Well i just removed the dash and saw that the hole moved, so it took like an extra 5 mins to realign it and put it back in...

i have about everything in now and i started my car, the "arrow" is now flashing and the SRS light it is, you said to clear the SRS light, can that be read and done with an OBD scanner or does that only check the "check engine light"

also, for the flashing "arrow" could that be related to my shifter, i think when i was putting the dash in i broke something, although i did put the car in all gears and it seems to be moving through the gears fine..

thanks for all the reply's!!!!!!!!

If you had something still unplugged in either the SRS or with the shifter that would set codes. That would keep the SRS light on and make the arrow flash.

You might not be able to clear all of them. Most generic scanners only read Engine codes.

What did you break on the shiftlock?
