Ok guys any idea what is wrong now, my 1998 S70 has a Alpine 6 disc CD changer fitted, I don’t know the model number, with a standard Volvo head unit (again don’t know the model but it is the one that does not have a CD player in it). Today I went into the boot (trunk) to change a CD and something must have hit the CD changer when I had the car loaded as the door had been pushed in off its track. Sadly I did not look as I was reaching to open it and must have moved it somewhat when I tried to slide it. I realised that it was not going to move so being out I did not force it anymore and drove home. At this point it was all still working but when I pressed one of the numbered buttons it appeared to change the disc but it did not play. When I looked inside the changer the disc that had come out was in the magazine, so it looks like it can not pull one in to play.

Wondered if anyone has had a similar problem and knew how to fix it, or if anyone has ever taken the lid of one of these things how simple are they inside to fix? I don’t anticipate the sliding door to be a problem as it is just cosmetic, but what is likely to be damaged inside?

Any clues anyone?

Also if I need to replace the CD changer what type of unit do I need to look for?
