Default Check engine codes 108 and 116

99 volvo S70. Check engine light came on yesterday, mechanic hooked it up to an obd and it read 2 codes, p0108 and p0116: manifold absolute pressure sensor high and engine coolant temperature circuit range/performance. Does anyone know if these 2 codes usually go one with another, any connection? Kind of strange, no check engine, no codes and than 2 codes at once[sm=dontgetit.gif] Anyone?
Thanks in advance!

If the coolant temp sensor goes bad the computer compensates for the readings. That could throw the MAP sensor code.I would replace the coolant temp sensor and check the thermostat. The thermostats ar known to break. Then see what happens from there.

I bought the sensor ($49) replaced it myself, that part of a puzzle is solved, thanks for your help. However, another code came on, it never ends[:@].. po410: secondary air injection system leak. What to do now?

Check and see if your car has an air pump.If it does it will be located under the from of the car on the drivers side. You can look from under the hood.Look under the battery tray and see if you see any big hoses coming from under there. There might be a problem with the air pump. Also to see if you have one look at the back of the engine and see if you have a valve attached to a metal pipe.I believe the little vaccum line that goes to it is purple. If you don't have an air pump check for a vaccum leak really good.

It's me again. P0108: Manifold absolute pressure sensor high is on the check engine light again. I have changed the sensor recently, could it be that part is bad or it's something else? It is pending code. I can't do state inspection. Tech?

It could be a bad sensor.I would also check all the vaccum lines and make sure there is no leaks anywhere.Check on the intake manifold on the right side of the car behind the steering pump.
