Check Engine light - turn off?
Hello:
The check engine light on my 2000 S70 has been on for over a year. I have taken it to two mechanics in the Burlington, Vermont area who have not been able to definitively diagnosis the problem. It is apparently an ambiguous code.
Is there any way I can turn the light off myself?
I need a Vermont State inspection soon. The car is fine working order, but will not pass inspection with the light on.

You can buy an OBD-II scanner (Amazon.com: Actron CP9580 Auto Scanner with CodeConnect Trilingual OBD II, CAN and ABS Scan Tool: Automotive) and reset it yourself but if the code keeps coming back something is deffinetly wrong with the car. I have a less expensive scanner but I have found that they don't always give all of the codes.
