i have a 98 s70 and my check engine light came on. I had it scanned at autozone two different times and both it came out as a vaccum hose, or evaporater hose of some sort. They told me it wasnt that big of a deal and it doesnt seem to be affecting any performance, ive been driving with it on for a while. Is this just my heat or a/c components, is it that big of a deal?

 

It might be the fuel evap system.

I have a similar question, If you have a vaccum leak, will your check engine light ALWAYS come on? I have an elbow that I noticed awhile ago, that is now in two pieces. The check engine light has not come on yet, could I have potentially let it become clogged?

 

Sometimes it takes a while for the light to come on.
I would try to fix it as soon as possible.
