Clicking noise in the dash...
Our S70 is making a strange sound in the dash area. Like 1/2 way between the air vents and the firewall. It's a clicking noise. At first we thought it was something to do with the AC system but it still makes the noise with the AC set to "0". I can even hear it when I'm sitting in the garage with everything off, just the car running, AC off, in park. Sounds like some kind of cridders are in there or something.
ooh... one that I haven't figured out yet, either! my '98 S70 GLT does the exact same thing... even if I turn off the A/C. However, if I turn the temperature settings up or down a couple notches, it goes away. It only does it after interior temps have stabilized. I kind of think it has something to do with the airflow doors in the dash... but not sure.
Sounds right, when the temp in the car stabilizes the noise starts. I was thinking it was maybe fresh air/recycle door flapping around or something. Is there a fix for it? Is something about to really break?
I guess it's more of a tapping sound. Sounds like it may be behind the glove box. Maybe I'll pull it and listed when I have nothing else to do (HA! That will be the day).
Anything that requires dash removal will definately have to fail before it gets tinkered with or replaced.
I will post back with an update if I solve the mystery.

Anyone ever figure out what this is? I've got the same thing going on, and it doesn't happen all the time. It sounds like rapid fire clicking at random intervals. When it does happen, it happens with air on or off, AC on or off also. It's just annoying.
I had this happen in my Envoy and it ended up being the mode door actuator that switches the air flow from vent to defrost, etc. Depending on which one the dash may need to be pulled. I believe there are 2 or 3 in the loop.
