HI folks,

I've done several searches as I KNOW I have seen this issue mentioned before, but I simply cannot find it. I have a 98 S70 T-5 with the Electronic Climate Control , and intermittantly the AC and REC lights will start to flash. After a few minutes they go back to normal. I know this indicates a fault, but I need some info on exactly what I am dealing with. Any help is appreciated.

You need the codes to know what you're dealing with. Make sure the in car temp sensor is clean.

 

How do you get the Climate control codes. I had a 95 850 that you could pull them from the OBD-1 connector under the hood, but not sure how they are done on the S70

 

A Volvo Scan Tool. Or an aftermarket one that can communicate with the climate system.

You could pull codes from Vol-FCR with a VAG-COM KKL cable. It's likely due to a dirty cabin temperature sensor, located behind the "grille" insert near the heated mirror switch. Just spray some compressed air in there to clean it.
