Climate control only works on drivers side??
Hello all, I have been searching these forums for hours(alot of great info here) but I have yet to see the problem I have. I have a 1999 s70 and the climate control only works on the drivers side, the passenger side only blows cold no matter what controls are set at. Auto or manual set the temp passenger side always is blowing cold but drivers side changes temp and will go the whole range (hot and cold)to wherever its set.Airflow thru the passenger sidevents and defrosters all seem strong just cold.Winters coming and heat would be nice.I'm thinking the climate control module is junk or possibly the servo motor temperature shutter on the right side(how do I replace this? where is it located).Any thoughts or can someone please point me at a good place to start. Sorry for being long winded. Thanks
I would look at the motor first. Remove the glove box insert. Then look on the main box on the left side. That should be the passenger side temp motor. Try adjusting the position and see if you can feel anything happening.
Thanks for the info,I will check that first thing in the morning. When you said to adjust the position I assume you mean with the controls,if nothing happens is it possible to move the position by hand ?
Edit: Also I just found this on page 40 from 2006 https://volvoforums.com/m_22892/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm

But if yours is eletronic then you don't have a cable. If yours is manual then yes you have a cable.
ECC(electronic)has numbers for the temp Mcc only has colors for temps.
If you have ECC then no you cannot move it by hand unless you remove the motor and use a screwdriver.

Just a quick follow up,sorry for the delay.I replaced the servo motor temperature shutter for the right(passenger) side and all works great now. Thanks for all of your help.
