hey people... yeah i have a 98 s70 and i always smell fumes of gas when i get out of my car. The check engine light has been going for a while.. just wonderin if any1 might know?

 

Have the codes checked.

 

Does it smell from the front or rear of the car?

 

the rear of the car...

 

Look at the gas tank inside the rear wheels and see if is looks like it is stained from the gas.
If so then one of the vent hoses on the top of the tank might be cracked.
If not check next to the fuel filter there is a little Valve with 2 vaccum lines called a rollover valve see if one of those hoses cracked.
