Default Daytime = Brights? also HIDs?

I have a 2000 S70 SE and i wanted to put in HIDs into the stock headlights however my worry is that when the car turns on the headlights turn on full brightness as well. There is no difference in the brightness during the day and during the night. But the thing is if i was to put HIDs into em then ill have bright all the time. now i realize that HIDs + stock headlights = scatter light beams and all that but bear with me i can spend 70-90 bucks on the kit but i dont have $400 for projectors. So my main question is, is there any way to either turn the daytimes off or have them running at a lower intensity then during the night time?

you can turn off the day time lights by turning the small screw right below and to the right of the head lite ****.

1. Your going to blind people with HID's and stock headlights. Not a good idea, but to each their own.

2. While you cannot lower the intensity of the lights (DRL's and Low Beams are the same intensity.) You can however turn your DRL's off, but what was said in the post above mine. Very easy to do. I myself have projectors and HID's and have done this with my lights.

By turning the screw your disabling your DRL's when the switch is in the DRL position. If you want your headlights on you turn them on by turning the switch to your low beams. Then you can use your highs if you need them.

So i checked it out and the place where the screw should be is not there and is covered for disabling the DRLs. Ive attached pictures to show you. Is there any other way i could do this? Maybe remove one of the wires from the back of the **** itself?

FYI your picture do not work. So I cannot reply to your post.

The image is upside down but you can see the screw in the UPPER LEFT HAND CORNER of the image.

now this might be a dumb idea as I haven't dug into my headlights much so I don't know all the ins and outs but... why don't you just put the HIDs into the highbeam lights? then you can set fire to the landscape only when you turn on your highs.

Do you normally drive with you HIGH beams on? I don't. Thusly making it night to have nice bright lights in the LOW beams that are used all the time. I rarely use my HIGH beams.

FYI people do put HID's in their HIGH's, but not for daily use.
