Had my ABS box rebuilt a year and a half ago. Recently the turn signals and bright lights quit working, wipers work only in slow mode. I believe that was also a fact when the ABS box went out. What's different this time is the ABS light is not on nor the STC service message. I remember at one time hearing there is another control box that controls these and are routed through the ABS box. Is thispartial ABS box failure again or should I look for something else?

Your steering wheel module is bad.

 

Try pulling the fuse for the SWM (steering wheel module"in the fuse box by the LF door. Re-install and if everything is working normally, then the SWM went to "sleep". Removing power to it resets the unit.

There is a SW update to prevent this in the future.

I too had this problem and the software update resolved the issue. Go to the dealership and get an update done, it should be inexpensive.

 

90% of the time won't fix it with software.. u have to understand in my opinion software upgrade is used to either hide or to slow down the issue of a complaint. I tried upgrade and let car go.. 90% of the time customer comes back and ending up replacing modules. hope this help

 

Tried several things to reset the system. But what finallyworked was cleaning the battery terminals. There was no message about low voltage. I assume there is an excess power saver that shuts these items down to conserve battery during a low voltage situation. Thanks for all your help.
