I've done the standard preliminary search, yet most of the problems with brights are they aren't working correctly, the lights are on the wrong position, etc. I am having the opposite problem and was wondering if I am a specific case or if this happens to other Volvo owners and if there is any fixes.

I head to work around 5 AM, so I need my headlights. When I use my blinker and it returns to the neutral position (after the turn) my brights come on. Its very annoying since I live near Dallas and traffic is usually heavy, and have to hurry to turn my brights off. My brights also come on if I hit a bump hard enough or touch, in any way, the turn signal.

I just bought the Volvo from my boss and he said that a couple of possible buyers for my car, had volvos that did the same thing. That's why I was asking if it was common/coincidence, or if it was him covering that the brights switch was busted.

Sounds like the switch is broken. Personally never heard of this failure mode; quite unusual IMO.
