Default Defroster issues

Hey guys, I have a 1998 S70 non turbo its got 85,000 miles on it, everytime I switch it to defrost it makes a howling noise and its pretty weak coming out of the defrost vents, all of the other functions work fine, it almost sounds like there is somthing plugging the intake part of the defroster. Maybe ice got in there or somthing? I live in Boston so we just got nailed with a ****load of snow and it just started after this most recent storm. Any suggestions would be great Im a painter at a body shop so I have pretty much no knowledge of this kind of thing but am very capable of fixing it myself if need be, Thanks a lot.

Default RE: Defroster issues

Hey justthought id let you guys know that I figured out what the problem was just in case anyone else runs into the same problem... So I pulled the car in today at work to get to the bottom of this defroster thing and it turned out to be the cabin filter being saturated with water, what happened was the bottom moulding the connects the wiper cowl to the bottom of the windshied was not there, so I yanked one off an unsuspecting s70 we just so happened to have at work that got totaled by a falling tree and put it on mine. So just a little info for any of you guys that have the same issue. If you have the windshield replaced make sure you or the installer put the bottom moulding back on to save yourself the hassle of a foggy/frozen winshield the whole damn ride to work/home. Later
Matt
