Default Do I have a Turbo, AWD, FWD??

Dumb question, but my son recently bought a 1999 S70 and I am not sure if it is turbo or AWD. The paperwork does not tell us either.

The engine is B5254T, 1.4 liter displacement. There is no "AWD" logo in the back nor the word turbo. How can I be sure?

What trim is the S70 GLT? There are Turbo AWD models.......Also there is a way to decipher what you have by breaking down the V.I.N number.

What does it say on the back of the car? And by 1.4l do you mean 2.4l? If it is a 2.4l, then it's either a GLT or an N/A. Easiest thing would be to open the hood, and look if the hose from the airbox go right to the throttle body, or does it go behind the motor?

This is a turbo engine. Fresh air from the front, to the air box, from the air box to the turbo behind the motor, and then back up to the intercooler, then to the throttle body. If yours does not do that, then you have an n/a, aka no turbo.

cool blue. Thanks, I will look. what is the blue cover next to the two hose going down? Your air filter says TURBO. Not mine. But let me double check the set up. THANKS very helpful!

That's the throttle body cover. They stopped putting turbo on those boxes a while ago. The x70's don't have the "TURBO' on the air box.

Yeah, you have a turbo. The "T" in B5254T is for turbo. I've got the same engine.
