Door lock s70

Door lock s70
Hello Volvo enthusiasts,
I have a question concerning my door lock mechanism of my 99 s70, on the passenger side. My interior light won’t always go off every time I close the door. So after some research, I found that it might have something to do with the micro-switch of the mechanism in the door.
So maybe someone has a solution how to fix this.
And my 2nd question.
My own solution was that I just disconnect the right electric plug (on the door lock are 2 elictric plugs) . So it just will not give a signal to the light. But my question is “this plug is this pure for the light or does it also affect other things in the car?

While in theory that sounds good, in my limited experience of working with Volvos that is likely not going to work. Guess it would be easy to find out though, pull the panel and the latch mechanism and see if your hypothesis is correct.
I'd just locate some new microswitches and replace them. Besides, by now you should have a few bulbs burned out in that door and a few other things to fix. Make a day of it!
