Default door locks, auto, fob; i have no clue!

alright, so ive been reading so much and so long on faulty auto door locks, fobs, actuators, switches and jambs my brain is hurting and im just lost.

im thinking my problem is a combination of things, but none of which i know exactly where to start. im a newbie 98 s70 owner so bear with me.

i'll try to explain as best i can:
- keyless FOB: unlocks trunk fine every time. will only unlock the driver door on occasion (maybe 1 out of 5 times) and the others even more infrequently. locking seems to be the same.

- auto door locks from inside: about the same story. sometimes it will lock/open all 4 nicely (though rare) and sometimes will only do one or two.

as ridiculous as it sounds, it seems like it's "tired" or "not tired" when it's wanting to work or not. you can just hear it either clicking soundly/crisply or other times kind of choking. i can sniff a trend of some sort but im just not sure if it's when it's hot outside, morning, midday. engine hot/cold. just havent been able to really track it yet.

i'm sure there's some other post out there that probably nails my situation down. if so, please post if it's got detail on what to do. i plan on correcting this myself.

thanks!

From what I have heard, the main controler is the one in the drivers door. It is likely the problem. If you have a friend that has a S70, you can try swapping the door controler and see if the problem follows.
