Default Engine mounts

I stopped by my mechanics place just for some advice today on my 98 S70 and while he was looking at the engine he said that it looked like it had sunk down a bit on the right side and when we looked a little closer we were both certain that it had since it was laying against the AC line. Now I have been driving the car every day 100 miles a day often at speeds up to 75 mph. I'm either numb or there really was no obvious sign of this problem. Of course my car has 255K miles on it and I don't expect it to be perfect.

Cutting to the chase, my mechanic didn't have time to look deeper into the problem but off hand he guesses that a motor mount failed. Has this happened to anyone else or can anyone give me advice on this problem. Are there any other possible reasons for this? If it is a failed mount, can it be repaired without breaking down all the engine components attached to it, repair in place kind of thing.

thanks in advance for any advice you may have.

That mount is common to go bad and is pretty easy to replace.

Thanks tech,

I feel much better now. the car still runs well so it would have been a shame to have to weigh a costly repair against junking the car.

If you wanted to do it your self it would take you about an Hour or so.

Tools Needed are a Jack, Jackstand, 14MM socket, 17mm wrench, and maybe a big straight screwdriver.
