Default engine oil on my air filter

I have searched this forum and google for that matter. My air filter is soaked in engine oil, I thought maybe the pcv system but the guy I bought it from said he had already done that, I have all the receipts from any and all the work they have done, the car only has 154k miles on it. I guess my question is, where do I start? there is also an oil leak up in the from middle or so of the car I would like to take care of, my goal is to get a good stage 0 tune someday

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I would check the PCV system anyway. It only takes about 30 seconds. I would also do a compression test before doing much of anything else. Can't imagine why the air filter would be covered in oil.

Is the car turbo?

I watched your video, and did the pcv test, I put a balloon and rubber band over my dipstick and it did not inflate, nor did I see any puffs of smoke

If oil is all the way up there, you'd have to have a major problem with the turbo. Or maybe someone had the lid off to do some work and some oil got on the filter. Is the fresh air pipe full of oil too?

Toss in a new air filter and see if that gets oiled.

Is the car pulling good? Turbo working fine?

The air filter is only a week old, I didn't notice this on the other filter when I removed it, I repaced it again tonight, I took pictures if you guys are interested. Turbo seems to spool well, I can hear it whistle around 3k this is not only my first turbo car, but also my first volvo. I am not unfamiliar with working on cars and have done clutches, head swaps and other things, I'm just stumped and new to these particular cars
