Default ETS/service engine lights on

My ETS and Service engine lights are both on. Volvo replaced the ETA and updated the software (recall) last month. ETS light came on about two weeks after replacement so I hadmy spark plugs (Bosch)changed and in the process the mechanic thought he broke a plug connector (#2 plug). I bought a new one from Volvo ($70), but the light is still on. Runs pretty good, but sluggish of the line. Any ideas? Do plug connectors gradually fail or do they either work or not? Online, I found replacement connectors made from Prenco for $20, will this be a good replacement?

Thanks

Hi,

I would visit an auto parts shop, such as AutoZone to have it free-diagnosed via OBD-II. Then I would buy a quart of oil/tranny fluid/light bulb/washer fluid as a courtesy (but this is jut me). Have them pull codes/trouble descriptionsand then post them here, so we can help you better.

This is a vendor some of us patronise:

I wish this gives you some hints.

Sorry, I've been out of town so haven't had a chance to have codes checked. Engine service light isn't on anymore.

Good for you, that's the beauty of electronics; no one can figure out the problem including those who designed it[8D].

Code readings and explanation from printoutfrom autozone:
Code readings: P0220- the PCM has determined that a malfunction exists in the electrical circuit for throttle position sensor "B". Troubleshooting definition- TPS (throttle position sensor)/APP (accel. pedal position) performance condition. explanation The powertrain control module monitors the (TPS) throttle position sensor/(APP) accelerator pedal position sensor for errors. Probale causes 1. TPS or APP sensor shorted or open. 2. check connector and wiring to sensor.
Code reading P1672 (said for GM)- low engine oil light control circuit fault. (said for Acura)-A/T data line failure, possible poor electrical connection or failed module.
