Default Firat time volvo buyer, in over my head?

I recently bought a '98 S70 T5. I bought it knowing that it needed a few parts so Im hoping people here can be of a help to me.

when my car hits 3700 RPM i hear a loud rattling noise that I am assuming is associate with the turbo. If my turbo does need to be replaced does anyone here know of a twin turbo setup for this car?

Also I need to replace the computer as it is fried (speedo not working, warning lights going on and off ect...) who is a reliable source for the stock computer? how do i find which model i need and where can i send it to get "upgraded"

thanks a ton!

Hi and welcome to the site.

No twin turbo set up. Most people upgrade the turbo and ECU chip to get more power. You can go to www.TurboBricks.com or www.SwedeSpeed.com to learn more about faster tunes. www.iPdUSA.com and other's sells preformance stuff. This site is more geared to keeping your car running and running smooth than some of the others.

You can look at your ECU to see what model / PN it has on it and get one from eBay, jy, etc. The ECU is located right behind your window washer fluid filler.

The warning lights doing their thing may be due to a bad alternator or the belt slipping. You should read the New 850 Owner thread in the 850 section before you do anything else.

The engine noise is likely the lifters, not getting enough oil.
