Default Flush Transmission?

I have a '99 S70. During oil change, mechanic said transmission fluid is a little brown and recommended a fluid change/flush. Called Volvo dealer mechanic who stated a flush could cause particles to float and destroy tranny. Best not to change fluid. But burnt fluid could destroy tranny as well. Any suggestions?

Check out the IPD instructions for changing not flushing the ATF.

Changing the fluid will not hurt the transmission unless you use the wrong fluid. In fact, if the fluid was changed every 30-40k miles, they would last longer.

That's the problem with these trannies, the freeking dealer recommending that you do NOT service the thing.

I suggest you drain and refill it 3 times.

Default Transmission flush

Of course don't flush the tranny how is the dealer every going to make any money replacing your transmission when it breaks. Dealers!! not saying that all dealers are bad but i don't care how good the lubricant is over time and use it will break down and get contaminated. Its just good insurance. Read the IPD instruction as instructed and follow to the letter.
