After car is filled with fuel, a few hours later, the whole cabin smells like gasoline. Any suggestions?

 

Anybody have any idea? I'm not topping off the tank, I stop when pump shuts off. Kind of concerning considering summertime is just about here in S FL and i'm a smoker! The smell goes away after about a day when some of the fuel is consumed.

 

Emissions evap valve could be stuck open. Any CEL codes?

 

No codes. Typically I'll fill up on my way home from work, park car for the night, then in morning the cabin smells of gasoline and it will go away by days end.

 

Check the floor for leaks. My s70 is doing this currently, and my friend, a volvo guru who runs a parts shop and owns 5 s70's, says its probably the two tubes that come out of the top of the gas tank leaking. Once I get a chance to check it out/replace them, I'll let you know.

Mine only leaks for a few hours after I fill it up.

 

Yes the gasoline smell lingers for a few hours and then goes away. No obvious signs of a leak but I am going to check the tank access hole in the trunk. Any advice once you get into yours would be appreciated!
