Default gear selection problems and vibrating

I have owned my a Volvo S70 for almost 12 months and it was lovely to drive given the age of the car.

I had a crank seal replaced, fly wheel side about 5 months ago, while doing this I had the clutch replaced also. This work was not carried out by official Volvo garage due to cost.

Ever since this work has been carried out I have experienced problems with the gear lever vibrating in third gear only while driving. The strange thing is, it does not do it all the time but is getting more frequent.

I also have trouble selecting gears when the engine first starts. I can overcome this by gently "wiggling" the gear lever a bit. This seems to solve this but not the vibrating in 3rd

Any Information will be much appreciated

Thank you

Maybe the cable bushings are bad at the transmission.

Did the shop use quality OEM clutch parts? Could the pressure plate be out of balance?

The difficulty shifting can be caused by the pressure plate not fully disengaging; sometimes an indicator of poor quality part. Or possibly an issue with the clutch hydraulics.
