Default Generator not charging light

A few days ago my 2000 S70 wouldn't start due to a dead battery as I had left a light on in the car overnight. After getting it jumped and running like normal I thought everything was fine. Today I try to start my car and again more problems. There is a clicking sound when i turn over the ignition and the generator not charging warning light is on. I'm not sure if this is just a dead battery problem again or something worse, like the alternator.
Thanks

Dead battery. What is the year/month date on it? Did you have it checked for bad cells after it died last time? A good battery should power interior lights for days.
