Shouldn't the ignition key fit?

It should, unless someone prior replaced the door from another car.. Had this happen to me once.

Can you get the ignition key into the lock, and it just doesn't turn, or does the key not even go into the lock. If that's the case, then you have the "valet" key and not the "master key. The "valet" key operates only the door lock and ignition lock, but is cut to it won't physically go into the trunk or glove box lock. The dealer can order a new key (damn sidewinder keys) They're around $30 if you have a 1998 (non- interlock) and around $100 (plus programming) if your car is a 1999 or 2000 (interlock, RF chip in key head)
