Default Hazard lights on, car won't start

I drove over to the local YMCA to run a 5k this morning. I parked the car, and as I was putting a few things away in the center console the hazard lights suddenly came on. I thought maybe I had bumped the hazard light button as I was putting things away, but the button was not depressed. When I pushed it, it did not turn the hazards off. I tried to start the car to clear this issues, but when I turned the key all my accessories came on, but the starter didn't fire at all. I thought maybe my battery was close to dead, so I disconnected it and then went and ran the race.
After the race, I came back to the car and reconnected the battery, with the same result, flashers came on but car wouldn't start. I had a battery tester in the car, so I checked the battery. It was fine. I also had my OBDII reader in the car, so I plugged that in, but there were no error codes. I checked all the fuses, and none were blown. After that I didn't know what else to try, and was freezing cold, so just left the car and got a ride home with a friend. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You tripped the alarm. For some reason your alarm horn has fallen apart and did not sound. You need to lock and unlock the drivers door with the key or use your remote to lock and unlock the car and you'll be fine.

Yeah, I was out at a dinner party last night, and on the way back I decided to check on the car. Reconnected the battery, flashers came on, and car wouldn't start. I sat there for a second and thought about it, flashers are trying to tell me something. Then it clicked, car alarm. I had disconnected the horn for the car alarm a couple years ago while living in NYC (I couldn't stand everyone's car alarms going off when a fire truck or a bunch of Harleys went down the street). Anyway, so I locked and unlocked the car, and then she started up fine. Felt like such a bonehead. Thank you very much for the response though.

Old thread, but if still giving you trouble, check battery voltage first (should be at least 12.5V) find the fuse for the alarm, and pull it out. Try to start the car.
