Head Gasket Replacement...
Labor estimating guides list around 12 hours for replacing the head. Obviously, at the same time, you'd want to do the PCV system, timing belt and tensioners, etc.
Make sure the smoking is definitely a bad head gasket... it could very well be the turbo! Either way, if the price is right, get it.
There's a guy a couple streets over from me that has a '98 S70 T5 manual wagon. I keep hoping for something to go wrong with it that makes him want to sell it cheap. He knows I work on European cars for a living and that I've admired his car, so hopefully he'd tell me first...

I had my eye on a Red R wagon about a year ago but it just disappeared. I would love to get a nice wagon. I'm torn between a 960 and R wagon between a '95 and '98. My problem is that I would want it to be a sleeper which I feel all R's are. But the 960 has the bigest payload size wise but would take to much work to make it a sleeper.
Besides that, I guess I will have to back off of that S70 T5 a little. I wouldn't be willing to pay more than $700 to $800 for that amount of work.
