Default Heater Core

I'm looking at buying a 99 S70 and it needs a new heater core.

How much should I expect to pay for something like that, and is it something i could possibly do myself?

Thanks

Adam

Default RE: Heater Core

You should be able to do it your self if you are pretty handy.
Here is a link to the part.

Cool just o-rings?

Has anyone ever just replaced the o-rings to solve their heater core problems? My '98 s70 has only 85,000 miles on it. It's hard to believe the core is bad already. Wondering if I changed the o-rings if it would solve that "syrup smell" I've got in the care.

Default just replace the core

I have replaced the heater cores on all of my S70s over the past 2 years. Seems like they only last 8-10 years (some even less). The part is about $135 so as long as you're in there you might as well replace the core as new o-rings come with the replacement kit from FCP.
