I just purchased a used S70 and the radio reads OFF can someone please help me figure this out, its a very long car ride with two 13 yr olds with no radio....please desperate mother

 

The anti-theft security code has been activated on the system from someone trying to enter the wrong code. See item 10:3 on this page. They usually all the same: https://www.customers.volvocars.com/...99sv70_141.htm

Usually the code is written in the glove box door or on the radio itself. If you can't find it there, look in the owners manual booklet package, the card may be in there somewhere. If all else fails, call a dealer with the car vin, they can give you the correct code.

Sometimes the code can be reset from driving around, sometimes you actually have to have the car sit with the key in the II position.

 

i just fixed mine the other day. i had to put the key in the I position and leave it on for 2 hours.

make sure you have the key in the right position. i had it all the way forward the first time and wasted 2 hours and had to recharge my battery again

also, make sure you have the code ready when "OFF" goes away.

Flushed my transmission this afternoon and disconnected the battery when pulling and inserting the UPPER trans. cooling hose into the radiator. Made the job much easier, except forgot about THIS!

Now if I can find that code I'll be all set.
