last night my volvo was missing after only being away from it for about an hour. I called the cops to see if it was towed. we filled out a police report yada yada yada. anyways this is my question!!
If i had both sets of keys and if my door was lock how the hell could they steal it and how easy could it be done!! i thought the volvos had a chip in the key or something!! how is this possible. i just want my baby back. i just got it 2 weeks ago if that!

RE: HELP!!! STOLEN VOLVO!!
Im almost tempted to say, let them keep the car for managing to steal a volvo, thats a great acomplishment. But in honest I really dont know how they managed to steal it, kinda hard to hot wire it with a thick piece of metal between the person and the wires.
Some questions:
Who did you buy it from?
Did they keep a set of keys?
Was it infact towed?
Are you sure you locked it? (Alarm did not go off???)
Was the sun roof open?(not all the way, but cracked at all?)

RE: HELP!!! STOLEN VOLVO!!
What do you want any of us to do? I am no car stealing expert but even nice cars can be broken into and stolen. Chip or no chip. I am sure they did it like they would steal any other car.
Hope you get it back.
Also FYI you violated a forum rule and posted this multiple times which this forum considers DOUBLE POSTING. You actually triple posted. I deleted the other two and kept this one. Please in the future do not double post your threads. Your thread will be answered in due time. Might not be right away but be paitent.
Thank you

RE: HELP!!! STOLEN VOLVO!!
I'm sorry about the situation, I hate people who steal.
Do you have the VIN number with you? If so, give the info to law-enforcement officers. Also, describe your Volvo as detailed as you can, someone here may be able to find it by accident, you never know. Also, post this at other Volvo forums too (Volvospeed, etc...).
So, tell us the:
- VIN #, if available.
- Exterior colour (Black, I noticed).
- Interior Colour.
- Tyre brand.
- Type of wheels (factory/aftermarket).
- Specific exterior &interiorflaws (dents, chippings, cracks, rusted tail pipe, etc...).
- 4DR or Wagon.
It was probably done by professionals. In Japan, the situation is a lot worse, and generally those stolen cars (usually Toyota & Lexus;Land Cruiser seems to be the worst) are bound for Chin@, Russi@, etc... As someone has noted, your car gets stolen regardless of what type of theft-deterrent you have. And they do it real fast. For professionals, stealing a car is piece of cake and they probably have done it in a matter of seconds or minutes.
In case if you were lucky enough to spot it, I wouldn't try to get it back myself; I'll write down/digital pic the license plate, the driver & all occupants and give the info to police. Since it was stolen in Iowa, I do not believe the car is bound for overseas and may have been dealt with locally.

Sorry I couldn't help you better.

RE: HELP!!! STOLEN VOLVO!!
Sorry to hear that fellow STFriedson1,
Hope it truns up soon, and in good shape.
In the meantime I'd suggest keeping an eye on the region's classifieds for T5 parts.
I.e.
Craigslist area search: http://geo.craigslist.org/iso/us/ia, and surrounding states.
Consider also: eBay.com for parts for 99 T5.
Lycos used cars: http://lycos.oodle.com/vehicle/-/condition_used/
Local papers: http://desmoinesregister.com, http://www.dmcityview.com/ etc, and surrounding localities.
Also you may want to consider local and regional salvage yards, who knows.
And please do post the info requested by JPN, great suggestion.
Best of luck.
