HELP--Tail light replacement problem
I have changed tail lights before, but this is baffling. I have a 1998 S70. The light is in the trunk, on the right side. Once I disengage it from the compartment, the light which is a problem, appears to be missing. I have had the car for five years without any light problems (simple replacement of bulbs!) I can put a bulb where it goes in the compartment, and when i turn on my lights, it's fine.. but when I try and put it back into the light housing, it can't go, it 's blocked by some plastic "plug" like thing, and the old bulb is missing?? Sounds bizarre, but I can't figure out what happened. I welcome any ideas, and realize that this sounds crazy!!
The light is not actually missing. The number and location of lights is different based on where the car is sold (U.S., Canada, Europe, etc.). Not all of the light connections are used in the U.S. The "plug/bar" across that particular connection is supposed to be there. It is easier to make one electrical component than to make a bunch of different ones.
Hmmmm.. on the other side, all three lights are there.. the small one (#67) and the two larger ones 1156 I believe.. and only in the last week, the one that appears missing, is not working, and the light on the dash board is on.. as I said, the dashboard light is on, and the tail light (bottom one) on the right side of the car is no longer on, while it's on the left.. and is working there??
i was about to suggest the fog light. took me like 3 days to figure out what that switch does. i kept looking at the garage in frond of me when i flipped the switch i was thinking fog light = forward. i should have been looking behind.
