My radio says "OFF". I have the code to get it back on. The dealership told me to leave the car running for two hours then put in the code. I left the car running two hours, but didnt get the "ENTER CODE" prompt. Instead, it still says "OFF". What do I need to do???? Thanks in advance.

 

you need to have the ignition on for about 2 hours...ignition on pos. 11 and you should be ok. if not something is wrong with your radio

 

Thank you flat rate. Part two of the question. If my battery happens to die during the two hours that the ignition is on... could that be a reason it would not change to "ENTER CODE"? Also, is it exactly two hours or between two and three hours? Because when I tried it last week, I drove around and then left the car in park running for two hours and twenty minutes and the code never changed to"ENTER CODE". Do I need to keep the radio turned off the entire time I am going through this two hour thing? Sorry so many Qs...I am just at a loss.

 

the radio needs to be on, the car does not need to be running, and usually it doesn't take 2 hours but that's approx.

 

With the key in positing 1 the only power being used is for the Radio and the SRS light I believe.
Unless the battery is weak from the start you will be fine.
Keep an eye on it till it says code. I have seen it take up to 4 hours.

Make sure you get the proper code from your local Dealer.
