Default I need info on engine interchange for 1998

It is a 98 S70 2.4 non turbo with a serial number on the engine above the 1266128 cutoff shown here for timing belt reasons:

Timing Belt & Water Pump Kit

Questions are:

1. Will a serial number lower still work in the car but I will need to buy a different T-belt setup?

2. A used parts dealer is saying that the 95-97 non-turbo 850 engine is identical and will work if I just swap over all sensors and intake/injectors to the donor engine. To my understanding the 98 model year has no interchange with other years.

So far the best price I can find for a long block is $700. I found a 98 at a self serve yard on Saturday but I pulled the pan and found it had a breach somwhere to where the oil and coolant was mixing.
