Default Im new here, and was wondering a few things...

Hi everyone, im new to the forums and i guess the volvo scene as well. I just picked up an s70 and was wondering if you guys could answer a few things for me. I bought a '98 s70 T5 SE from a local dealership with 120k kilometers on it for $8800(Canadian), it was origonaly advertized for $11,500. Do you guys think 8800 is a good deal? I haggled with the guy for a little bit as it was sitting there for a month and a half and has been in a $1000 accident. It runs great, the body is super clean and the interiour/ leather seats are still in great condition. They also provided all the service records from the dealership that the previous owner did to it, im the 2nd. My other question was if anyone could tell me what the SE package is exactly, is it just the wood grain and suede patches in the seats? I cant seem to find anything about it online anywhere. Thanks for any help you guys can give, take it easy.

I think you got a good deal. I'm not familiar with the SE package though. 98 S70 T5's are not that easy to find though. If it's a five speed it's even harder to find.

Our dollar is pretty much on par with your's these days, but still it seem's car's in the State's are a fair bit cheaper. So if i had to guess i would say it would be like paying $7000 or so down there. Unfortunetly it is an automatic though, but i dont mind, its fair bit faster then my last car ('99 v6 mustang) and in excelt shape. I havent been able to find anything online about the SE package yet, i'll have to stop by dealership one of these day's and see if they have any info on it. Thank's for the help guy's.

The S70 T5 SE model was a Canada/Europe only model and never imported to the U.S. The basic difference is the interior. The SE model has the door panels and leather/suede combo seats from the S70R (Europe/Asia only)/V70R model. I think it may also have come standard with the Dolby pro-logic sound system which has a center channel speaker in the middle of the dash above the center air vents (Similar to the C70 with that option). The wood grain trim was an available option in the U.S. so that's not unique to your SE.
