interior lights don't go out

interior lights don't go out
every once in awhile all the interior lights stay on even when the car is not running and locked up.
i have opened and closed all doors and trunk to make sure nothing is ajar and no luck. usually after starting and turning off the car a few times they will go off. the dealer has no explanation for this and tells me they can only help me if they can witness it while it is happening. any suggestions?
