Default Keyless Entry Programming For '99 S70

Bought this car used and it only had one owner. She never handed me the key fob when I bought it so I ended up buying a used one for $20 on eBay. Should there be a receiver box located behind the glovebox? If so, I don't have one. If I do end up needing it, does any Volvo dealership allow walk-ins? Or do you need to schedule service online in order to get the entire thing programmed so it will work?

Thanks in advance

The bad news is that the used one is worthless unless you happened to get the sticker with the code number that came with the original package for it. The even worse news is that you will need a new remote and a software download to mate that remote to the car. Typically you are in the $200.00+ neighborhood to get a remote working. Keys and remotes for the 99+ cars are brutal.

If there is any way to contact the previous owner and get a remote exhaust every attempt there first.
