Default knocking in rear

2000 S70 turbo, I had knocking in the front and fixed it with new sway bar links, now I can hear the same knock in the passenger side rear, it is real bad in the morning when the temps are cool, not so much in the afternoon when it is warmer, also when I push down on that rear quarter I hear a squeak. any ideas, or is it the sway bar links?

There is not sway bar links in the rear.
It might be the rear shock or shock mount. To see if it is the you can carefully remove the shock and test it. The newer cars you can remove the shock and test drive the car. But I am not sure if I would trust doing it on the S70.

I also have a squeak on mine when I push it down in the rear and I am pretty sure it is just the components for the parking brake making the noise.

As for the clunking... I have clunking in the rear and that is the heat shield above the muffler. A bolt rusted off so it clunks a lot and is really annoying.

Just some things to consider.

Wow, I have the exact problem (03 S80). Loose end links on the front and the mechanic didn't know what was wrong with the back but suggested an end link there too since it was loose. The passenger rear makes a big thud when I leave in the morning, when I move from reverse to into Drive. What should I tell the mechanic? Just to look at it again?
