Default let me begin!

I am new to the s70( i have a 2000), so i have a few questions.. what type of spark plugs should i use when do a tune up? what is a good brand of shock and strut for the s70?(rides sorta rough in the city..) can someone tell me more about the internals of the engine.. forged or cast pistons? what is the max HP rating if the stock motor? Is it true that i should only use Volvo brakes when they need to be replaced? Is the turbo on my s70 a 13b? will a 15-16g be a direct replacement? i bought the car this weekend, with 128715 on the odom., is there anything i should be weary of and have checked out? (me and my mechanic checked it out before buying, everything looked ok).. Who sells a good catback exhaust? After dealing with my Eagle talon awd turbo for 3 yrs, i think i am good with a set of tools, how hard is it to replace the turbo on the s70, considering it is on the rear of the motor? thanks!!!

1. Welcome

2. The motor can withstand about 300Hp and after that new better internals, etc... are needed.

3. You should be running a 13g turbo with an angled outlet flange.

4. A good catback that depends what you think is good. I direct you to this link, https://volvoforums.com/m_38606/tm.htm
This link is full of info and also websites with OEM and aftermarket parts.

IPD has a catback system so does EST. I recommend having a local shop fab you a 2.5" mandrel bent system with a free flowing straight through design muffler like a Magnaflow. IPD's and EST's are great systems if you want to pay the money. They are not cheap by any means. I would think a local shop could do just as good of a job, if they can mandrel bend for less money. Viva Performance also sells catback systems however they sell for outrageous prices, $629-$699 for the ones they sell.

On a side note with Volvo's you will see the most gains with a performance downpipe while doing exhaust modifications. 3" mandrel bent downpipe is the way to go.

5. BEFORE you mod your car do STAGE ZERO. It is located in the link I provided you. Also a good boost gauge would be warranted as well.

6. Are you looking to upgrade shocks and struts or keep OEM?

Upgrading: KONI's, KONI FSD's and or Bilstein HD's

OEM: Looking to stay with OEM I would go with Bilstein TC's. They are equivilant to OEM and in most people's minds better.

7. No you don't have to use Volvo brakes when replacing. But what parts are you talking about replacing? Pads, rotors, calipers, brake lines?

8. Spark plugs, OEM are good.
