For my 99 S70GLT the owner's manual says 81 ft lbs. When the car has been to the Volvo dealer, I have to use a 4 ft pipe on the supplied wrench to loosen them, so they are using much more than 81. However, when Sears tire shop had the wheels off, they put on the work order torque to 81, and I would say that's what they used based on the effort to remove them.I wonder if the Volvo dealer has learned through experience that it's better to use more than 81?

I have tightened them to 81 and had them come loose before that's why I do to 105.
Set at 81 usually you can use a 3/8's ratchet with not cheater bar to get it loose so I do not trust it. If I set it to 105 I can still use my 3/8's air gun and get them loose it does not require you to even use a 1/2 gun. I do it for safety sake.
