When the mass airflow sensor gos bad,does it have a special code,my car has been running like CRAP for the past 3 days,and I have no idea where to start, I used to get the code p0171,running lean and the service light came on.

my Plugs are less then a year old,my wires are good,distributor cap and rotor as well.

is there a way to test the car for a Bad Mass meter,to know for sure,before buying one.

 

It wont always throw codes. If you unplug it with the car running and the idle smooths out and then when you plug it back in it idles crappy chances are its bad.

 

when I unplug it,it doesn,t really smooth out that much,but when I replug it back it stalls.

Then you might have a bad Mass Flow or something else or a combo of things. If the MAF is bad and up unplug it the idle should smooth out to nice. But also when you plug it back in it should not stall either.

 

one thing i noticed,when the car is in the park position,it the iddle seem to be ok.
any hint

 

it only acts up when driving?
Maybe it is misfiring then.

 

as i soon as I put in driving mode it acts up,my plugs are around 10,000 my wires are almost new,what else could possibly cause misfiring

 

Maybe a spark plug is bad.
