I was looking for another grand am when i came across this baby or devil. I don't know anything about a Volvo, but I'll still car smart. I don't know the main areas i should look at.
First off it ""seems"" a little high for the miles.
At 150k who knows if the timing belt or trans fuild has been changed. I never own a turbo car but i know their are a few more oil lines that can leak. Since it been in Montgomery, AL it whole life more than likely, rust is not a problem.
But a few tips or point me to the right thread will be most helpful

Really nice car ! 150K miles is usual for a car that's a 1999. Volvo's are known as good, tough reliable cars, and can last forever if you take care of them. 150,000 miles is nothing for this car. However it is a 12 year old car now, and it would need a good check over by a qualified mechanic before buying. A full service history of the car is a plus too.
Other then that, this car is great, and it sure beats a Grand AM. Good luck with your car hunt !

I will add it to cars to look at, i don't like when they don't post engine shots. But something about it jumps out at me. I will ask about the water pump and timing belt, seem a little tight on that side because of the I5 motor. It weird to jump ship from GM, i had my 01 GA for 9 year before it got total at 115k.

well I am a Ford guy myself but I have always liked the Volvo 850 and recently the S70 models (pretty much an 850 model with some tweaks and newer) ever since I test drove an 850R many, many years ago. If you are into hotrodding it makes a good sleeper car and get's good gas mileage to boot. I think you will be REALLY impressed with a turbo car if all you have driven is naturally asperated cars (non forced induction). Go test drive it and report back.
