MISFIRE AT 90MPH

MISFIRE AT 90MPH
When I gun the car at 85 or 90, the check engine light comes on and the car stutters.
The codes read, misfire 1&5 cylinders and something about catalytic converter.
The wires plugs, thermostat, main cam sensor have recently been replaced.
Can anyone shed light on this problem.
Please contact me at shybouy@aol.com

RE: MISFIRE AT 90MPH
Does it smooth out when you reach 120 mph?
Just kidding.
I have the opposite problem with my 850 R. It runs rough and throws out misfire codes at idle and low speed, but when I get going over 80 it runs like a top. Every time it runs rough, I find an open road and floor it and goes smooth. When I get back down to around 70 sometimes it will stay smooth and other times it's still rough.
Hopefully TECH will be able to help you out with your problem. He usually gets online in the evening.

RE: MISFIRE AT 90MPH
It does smooth out after the initial sputter and then when the codes come on it seems not to do it again, at least immediately.
I also changed the rotor along with the wires and plugs.
Mechanic may have used a used cam sensor, if no code came up this time would that indicate that all is well with the cam sensor?
The cam sensor was replaced when the car did not want to turn over, towed it in and was told it was the cam sensor causing the problem.
If the valves are sticking can I add a lubricant or no?
