I am in the middle of a prep on a used engine to swap in. The car is a 99 base S70 with auto trans.

Anyway...first question is..what is the torque spec for the rod cap bolts on the crankshaft. I pulled one cap to see what the journal looked like underneath it.

Then, according to VIDAS this car is supposed to have a hydrualic tensioner but I could not find one on the donor car which was also a base S70...99 model year.

Below is a pic of what I see on my engine:



Next issue is I am having troble finding the match marks on the cam gears and crank gear. There is a tiny line on the cams but they never line up. I also see a small "M" in the cam gears but they also never line up.

All I see on the crank is this line on the part between the gear and serpentine belt pulley.

Please help.

 

Do you have the upper cover on when trying to line the marks up?
Vadis did not give the torque spec that you need?
