Default New Axle Seal Not Sealing

1999 Volvo S70 Automatic Transmission. I had an axle to transmission seal replaced by my mechanic and the new seal is leaking. Any advice on solving this problem?

you need to inspect where the seal goes to make sure there's no score marks etc. Also, the seal needs to be inserted to the correct depth. Dunno what it is for the S70 so best do some research. Is your mechanic Volvo savvy or a generalist? You may want to talk to a mechanic who's a Volvo specialist. To note, I did seals on an Audi a few years back and had to rent a special tool to set the seal to the correct depth thus the suggestion about doing some research. Its also possible that there's an internal bearing problem where the shaft is moving around making it difficult to seal.
