new owner with bad luck have a few questions
I just recently purchased a 98 s70 got from a dealer and drove it for a few days before it ate its rod bearings now the few days I had the car I loved it so I wanna fix it, the dealer gave me a parts car to go with it since it exploded but I'm just going to drive that for the winter, my question is where is a good place online to find a good quality replacement motor and as long as I'm at it I want to upgrade to a t5 motor and maybe a manual transmission swap if its feasible. How hard is the manual swap?

Welcome to the forum.
Sorry to see that your car failed. Motors are hard to come by. Check junk yards.

Just food for thoughgt....
I assume you know the rod bearing is toast because you dropped the oil pan and saw it. There is no way to fix that without removing and rebuilding the engine. To be honest, I would do that before putting in an unknown motor. A machine shop can dress up a crankshaft. These engines seem to be pretty tough.
Also, depending on the condition of the crankshaft, you can dress it up and replace the rod bearing. It won't last forever and you won't be able to race the engine, but you can dress up the damaged journal with a fine file and emery and crocus cloth. You will never get it right and you may put the crankshaft in an unrepairable state (not sure how they repair them). But you may be able to get the engine running.
You could also considerusing the parts car engine to get a new crankshaft.
