New to the S70 T5
Just purchased a 1998 S70 T5M from a fellow swedespeed-er and so far I'm loving the car.
I have a couple of questions though.
1. This is my first Turbo car. Should I let the turbo cool down for 2-3 minutes after driving before turning off the engine?
2. Rear door locks. From my understanding this is a common problem. Doors will lock, but will not unlock. What is the solution and how easy is it to fix?
3. Previous owner always used synthetic blend (not full synth). I kind of support him on that, but wanted to hear other opinions too.
4. How do you turn off the traction control?

1. YES, especially if you are racing the car around. Helps keep the turbo from blowing up.
2. Did not know this only happened to the rear doors. On my cars it happens to all doors and it's the lock actuators. Not a cheap part but I have picked up several at the salvage yards.
3. 10w-30 oil is fine but if you are already using some synthetic that is good.
4. There is a button on the dash that reads "Tracs". You can switch that to turn it off but I've never tried it so you will have to verify.

Pressing the TRACS simply makes the light flash, but it shuts off as soon as I remove my finger.
As for the turbo - I don't race the car. I make some sprints in third gear from time to time, but usually at the end of my drive the car coasts in neutral for about .5 mile to my garage. So I think it has a bit of time to cool off, but just in case I will let it sit in idle for a couple of minutes.
