Default Oil Change

My daughter has a 1999 S70 GLT and some of her male friends tried to change the oil for her. In the process they had a problem getting the oil filter off and proceeded to punch a screw driver through the filter to remove it. I found out about this some time later and it seems that they punched a hole through the filter CAP and now that has to be replaced (i havent seen the parts yet but from what is described it sounds right). Is this a part i should be able to get a the dealership or do other Volvo's have this same part and i get it from a junk yard? Any other advice about changing the oil on this car would be greatly appreciated.

Apparently, i havent seen it yet (i will in about an hour) the S70 that she owns has a filter cartridge and a filter cap (filter cover/filter holder whatever you want to call it). It is meant to just change the cartridge and not the cap. therefore it seems to me that if you puncture the cap you have to replace it. I have never seen one of these before but it doesnt seem hard to replace. I will have pictures in a little bit to show what i am talking about (the car is in a different location - grrrrr).

If they did go through the filter housing, you can get a new housing at the dealership. They cost around $20. (if you need it, the part number is 1275808)
